SPECIALIST SOURCING
ON THE ISLAND OF BALI
It all began in '95 with a small shop in Ubud selling old Indonesian textiles and cultural artefacts. The shop had no name, only an enigmatic logo with a tiger sleeping under an umbrella. Locals started calling it macan tidur, which means "sleeping tiger" in Indonesian, and the name stuck. Since its kittenish beginnings, this sleeping tiger has grown into an eclectic network of arts projects and enterprises on the Island of Bali and around the world.
